Blue Boy and Beany

Two moms, twins and autism.

This site will chronicle my efforts to not screw up my boy/girl twins.  They each have challenges – Blue Boy is autistic and Beany may well be brilliant.  They are a handful – we are in the terrible twos, soon to be threes.  I am exhausted.  And, yet, there is absolutely no where else I’d rather be because they are beautiful and I am so lucky to be their Mama.

This site will probably focus more on Blue Boy and his challenges because autism is, by definition, pervasive – it penetrates all parts of our lives.  It just does.

My challenge is to find balance and perspective, to guide and help them, to provide a safe place for them to develop to their full potential, to respect them and their unique abilities, and above all else to not screw them up because they are pretty wonderful little people already.  I hope I am up to the task.
